Since the Tateyama Fab was built in 1984, UMCJ has continued to implement its principles of coexisting with nature.
UMCJ received the MITI Kantou Award for Environmentally Aware Factories in 1994 in recognition for the fab's success in operating harmoniously with the surrounding forest area. Moreover,
the company's efforts at increasing water usage efficiency through a
｢closed-circulation water system ｣ has contributed greatly to maintaining Tateyama's abundant natural resources and beautiful surroundings.

and works continually to ensure that each and every worker in the fab meets the standards. Through the use of automation systems such as trackless robots and the latest equipment,
